Since the lead role of Michael (21) and most of the key supporting roles are young, under the age of twenty-five, The Producers do not expect talent salaries to burden the budget with high-six or low-seven figure actors.
The Production will allow for one or two high-salaried players for marketing purposes but it is our intention to catch rising stars at the early stage and focus the budget on BTL for production value
Casting the lead role of Michael with the right actor is key to Lone Soldier’s success.
Michael is only twenty years old and needs to fit the “all American boy-next-door” mold. This character description limits the number of available actors who already have name recognition and value in the market place.
The Producers are targeting a few Disney/Nickelodeon stars who are aging out of their adolescent careers as well as young TV/Cable/NF/Film actors who have shown range and fit the profile.
Besides the lead role (Michael), there are two pools of characters that are important to cast carefully, not only for artistic purposes but also to maximize revenue potential.
The first group is Michael’s friends and family. These roles require only a few day’s work each. We will bring in established film actors for Michael’s parents and grandfather and use TV faces for the younger roles, his friends.
The more important of these groups is Michael’s close Squad Mates, especially Boris and Moshe.
Boris and Moshe are younger, in their early twenties. We will look to cast these roles with American/European/Israeli actors who are known more through television than film.
Another key is Sgt. Mordecai Hirsch, a tough but genuine thirty year old veteran.
